A Legacy Passed Down

 M'Lisia Williams, founder and president, is a Florida native currently residing in her home town of Dania Beach, Florida. She founded the Excellence Project Inc. in 2017 to carry on a family legacy to honor the late Arthur & Onell Coachman. The scholarship fund was established in 2003 during the Lauderdale Lakes/West Sunrise Kiwanis club visit to New Jerusalem First Missionary Baptist Church. The scholarship was created to honor Arthur Coachman and his commitment to education. As a retired educator, Arthur believed in helping students continue education beyond their high school years. In 2017 The Excellence Project had its first scholarship recipient. We are proud to carry the torch and continue to support students across Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach county.
